English Proficiency Test Improvement

Application Eligibility

  • This scholarship is open to TCU students only.
  • International students may apply, but the official language of their country must not
    include English. Please refer to THIS LIST
  • You must be a current student of TCU when applying for the award or obtaining an English proficiency test score.

English Proficiency Test Improvement Award

Requirements & Application Process

Those who took an official English proficiency exam and made an improvement on CEFR level of their scores may apply for this award.
* First-time applicants must provide admission English scores;
If you do not have an English language proficiency score for admission, you may use a formal English language test or school English language exam score obtained during your studies as a benchmark.

If you are eligible, please prepare the original certificate or transcript of the validation exam and complete the online application.
After filling in the form, please submit (1) two original certificates or transcripts, (2)Covered by the current semester's registration sealBring your student ID to the 外語教學中心 office for verification.

Award Criteria

If you improve 2 or more levels, the bonus can be accumulated!

Example: If John improves from A1 to B1,
he can earn $1,500 for improving from A1 to A2,
and another $1,500 for improving from A2 to B1. $3,000 in total!

Notes

  • Please fill out the application form within 4 months after the score report is issued.
  • The condition for achieving the Plus Incentive Bonus is "at the time ofWithin one academic yearAchieve progress", not "achieve progress in one year".
  • The deadline for application for the award is "June 5 of the second semester of each academic year" by 17:30
  • You can only apply for one of these awards or the "Foreign Language Proficiency Test Award".
  • If you do not have an entrance English score, you need to take On-campus English Exam, and use the results of that exam as the baseline.
  • You can apply separately for the Listening & Reading sections and the Speaking & Writing sections of the TOEIC test
  • After completing the application form, please bring the following documents to the 外語教學中心 office for review:
    1. Two original certificates or transcripts
    2. Covered by the current semester's registration sealStudent ID
  • Students enrolled in the 114th academic year and later can directly provide their basic English level from the student system as the basis for applying for this scholarship.
    After applying for this reward based on your system level, you need to go to the 外語中心 office and open the basic English proficiency system on-site.
    Have the 外語中心 personnel verify whether the results match the uploaded scores.

  • Incentive payments are made by remittance and cannot be claimed.Please be patient as it takes time for the remittance to be processed.
  • The reward will be disbursed in the order of applications received. If the funds are exhausted, a separate announcement will be made to stop accepting applications
